The cardiac muscle

Random fact of the day:
When resting, humans pump all their blood through their heart in ONE minute.
I learned this a few days ago, and I was impressed! : )

Here are the V cards I made.
(minus the glitter I added after taking the pictures, *sigh*)
I spared my family the nitty gritty details and just labeled the four chambers :)
I should have gone on and to label the superior&inferior vena cava, aorta, the four valves: bicuspid, tricuspid, pulmonary & aortic, the four septa...
etc etc etc

Yeah.
Just like them, you probably don't care either. Haha.

nerdy enough? ;)

my mom is so cute/creative!
she even made rice krispy treats with hearts on top for us when we came home from school.
:)

*I rarely drink soda, but it was red. so what the heck :)

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! <3

I-heart-you day!

So... tomorrow is Valentine's Day! For those of you who don't know, I really really like this day. Even though I do not have a romanic life at this moment, I still like to celebrate this fun day : ) I obviously focus on different things like decorating and enjoying the 'pinky-ness' of everything, making red & pink heart-shaped cookies, cutting and glueing sparkly cards for my family and decorating with hearts. Hearts and hearts and more hearts! I'm pretty sure this holiday will get only better with time ;)

But right now, I want to talk about Biblical love for a bit. It's different... it's not the earthy butterflies-in-your-stomach kind of love. It's more powerful and we celebrate this kind of love on Christmas and Easter. God's love toward us is so great!

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is LOVE!"
-first corinthians thirteen:thirteen

God isn't talking about the romanic kind of love. Believe me. This love is difficult (if not impossible) to obtain by human means. It's patient. It's kind. It rejoices with the truth. It protects. It hopes. It perseveres. It does not envy. It does not boast. It is not proud. It is not rude. It does not delight in evil. It is not self-seeking. It is not easily angered.

I'm going to try to use this love tomorrow (and hopefully practice it everyday afterwards.)

Okay, back to the cute side of Valentine's Day :)
I made truffles for the Super Bowl and then froze the leftover ones. They taste SO good frozen- btw. I just want to give them the "Best Truffles Ever" Award. They're sooo delicious. I posted the recipe here.

(my valentine's wall is actually the back of my bedroom door)
:)
*this year i got a little nerdy with my valentine-card making. haha in my anatomy & physiology class, we've been learning about the heart and blood. (how appropriate, right?!) anyways, my cards are pretty cool. I'll post about them later ;) can't give any of the secrets away yet...
