the panoramic pics on my iphone for the 2 and a half years.

I've been so blessed to be able to see all this in such a short amount of time, and so much has happened since the road trip/move to North Dakota. :)

awkward & awesome 6/7/13

let's have lunch together.

i haven't done one of these posts in a very long time, so i thought it was about time to do one again. but first, i'll update you really quickly on life in hawaii. i still can't believe i'm here all summer. i am beyond blessed. on monday, i started an online class: organic chemistry. I need to take it before i apply to my medical laboratory degree. (i apply in late july/early aug.) i've taken an intro class to o. chem before this, so i'm hoping it helps. thankfully, i don't need to take a lab with it... i'd say taking a lab would be close to impossible anyways- seeing as it's an online class. another thing that started on monday was vacation bible school at my family's church. this year's theme is kingdom rock! tomorrow is our last day. :( it went by so quickly. i feel like it always does though. i'm helping with games this year (kinda out of my comfort zone), but the kids love it! and that's all that matters, right? i haven't been able to swim or hike lately (because of vbs) which is ok, but i'm excited to do those things again. there's a pool 3 blocks from our house, literally. i love it.

*more about the picture above: my two younger brothers have had sailing lessons in that water for the past 4ish months, and they took us sailing last week! hopefully i can blog about that soon. :) i didn't take any pictures so i'm going to steal some from my mom. if that's ok with her. ;)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

okay, now for awkward & awesome time.

+awkward+

+people think I'm 17, and nate's 20 something. i'm ok with that. when i'm 50, i'll look 40, right?

+looking at pictures of winter and missing it already.

+remembering those times as a 3-5 yr old. picking my belly button. a lot. bleeding, scabs and band-aids were involved. really? what was i thinking...

+crazy angry lady yelling at  me when i ran through construction area. it wasn't that construction-y, and she was in her mid 20's. i thought it was weird.

+not "old enough" to have military orders. let me explain-- while checking in our luggage, i mentioned to the guy behind the desk that nate and i were on orders (reason: so we didn't have to pay the ridiculous fee for check-ins.) we were, but not in the sense he was thinking. needless to say, we technically are old enough. we're both over 18 years.

+awesome+

+ i have a lifeproof case for my iphone now! this means i can go on adventures, and i won't have to worry about it breaking/drowning/cracking/etc.

+mangos, mangos everyday. I will be sad when they are gone (if that day ever comes.)

+kids at vacation bible school. they brighten my day like one other.  "aunty, where do i put my water cup?" in hawaii, mr and mrs/ms are translated to uncle and aunty, fyi :) it's adorable.

+watching elias toddle around. he's getting pretty good at that. he also thinks every animal roars.

+a hammock in the shade. sleeping in it two nights in a row is also fun. :)

+nate and his awesome computer skills. my online class (o chem) was not working because our computer had the wrong video player. after, frustration and a headache. he got it to work. yay!! now i can't procrastinate it anymore...

it's been 8 years

Eight years is a long time.
Long enough to live in 5 different homes.
Long enough to finish middle school, high school and half of my college years.
Long enough to see friends come and go; long enough to forget memories- good & bad.
It's been eight years since I've been to that island I called home for six years.
Eight years since I listened to that relaxing tourist-y music at the airport.
I was 12 when we moved away.
Half my life (up to that point) had only known island life, island time, island ways.

The warmth, the breeze, the constant smell of fresh flowers, the almost daily viewing of rainbows, the salty water on my skin and tons of sand in my sun bleached hair. The hours upon hours of playing outside probably racked up to hundreds of thousands. There were only three reasons to be inside: school, eating and sleeping (yes, I know you can do all 3 outside, but we usually didn't)... anyways, every other reason was invalid. I only wore slippers (flip flops) if we were going to run errands or if I was biking, otherwise I was bare foot, and I despised shoes and socks. Absolutely hated them. Oh my goodness! They were death to my feet.
Sometime between then and now I got use to them- thankfully.

I'm finally going back 'home'. It's hard to call Hawaii home after the huge time gap, but that is what I'll call it.

"Home is where the heart is."
My family (heart) is there.
It is home.

I know things won't be the same as when I lived there before, but I know it'll be close enough.

happenings via instagram pics

i love my job.

climbing, everyday climbing.
except the days my arms are on fire from climbing.

growing in the word

therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. -matthew 6:34

playing with my food.

biscoff spread: the texture of peanut butter, but the taste of teddy grams. so yummy.

i could've been a cheerleader; actually, i'm kinda glad i never was one.

study study study! i can see the faint light at the end of the tunnel.

last saturday (praise the Lord it was "warm"), und had a campus wide community event called the big event. we got free tshirts, sunglasses, stickers, waterbottles, breakfast and lunch. I surely wasn't expecting all that stuff!
over a thousand people came to do service projects throughout grand forks and east grand forks.
our group picked up trash at a park and along the river. i'm definitely participating next year!

because everyone needs a mullet book...

finally! it was warm enough to bike to school.
today, it's back down to 36, overcast and SUPER windy.
(Maybe it was a one time thing?)

This is a snow pile.
Don't believe me? Well, that's ok.

friends are the best. (globinsons 2013)

Especially the ones that drive twenty-seven thousand hours to come visit you.
Partial Globinson (Gleisner + Robinson) reunitation (... is that even a word?) happened about a month ago. We are so weird together, but we have some of the greatest times together too. These pictures will give you a small idea of the things we've done.
Just to give you a little background: we've known these people since as long as I can remember. We went to the same church 15 years ago. but when we moved away, we also lost contact with them until we were reunited through myspace. haha oh, myspace... thanks.

That one second time we made a Stellar Kart music video.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok the rest of the pictures are from recent times.
Besides eating and sleeping, Nate and Perrin did this. :)
Elissa and I thank you for holding our ice cream cones as we using the bathroom.

Apparently, Perrin was a sunglasses model on this trip.
We toured the health food store.
(I say "toured" because that sounds like something our homeschooling moms would be proud of us doing.)

height order 2013 (minus 5 people) *sad face*

This drink was probably the craziest drink I have ever drank.
Let me describe it to you:
imagine fuzzy seeds floating in a liquid that tastes like bread dough (or fermenting yeast.)
yeah, weird. Anyways, I felt really healthy as I tried swallowing it.

Another place we toured was called Treasure Chest.
Perrin, Nate and Elissa in the tape aisle.

Because I've always wanted to build-my-own clipboard...

I love her! I feel like I can be completely honest with Elissa, and she won't judge me.
I miss you, girl!

Everyone's taking pictures!

I don't even know. For some reason this picture makes me laugh though.
Why was this picture taken again?

Until next time, Globinsons.

college stuff

this drink did its job. :) i think it's my favorite at the moment.

------------------------------------

today was crazy busy. it was non-stop go go go.
class, homework, quizzes, another class, lab, studying, and (the icing on the cake) a chemistry test
filled my day from 8am to 8pm.

on days like these, i always have to remind myself to "be still, and know that He is God." psalm 46:11
He helped me through the day, and i'm not sure what i wouldn't done without that help.

chemistry homework covered up by a plethora of starburst wrappers.
"reduction", haha. how ironic.
