Dental Hygiene Update

Disclaimer: I have not been accepted yet.
(just keep reading)

Best 15 letter word ever! :)

You know that feeling you get when you're so excited you can't think straight?

Well, I got that feeling about a week ago. And it was in the form of an email.

I had been patiently waiting for conformation on whether or not my almost 10-page application was valid or invalid. On February 24th, I checked my student email and there was a letter saying my application was valid (aka good to go!) Praise the Lord :)) Now comes the stressful/difficult part of getting accepted: tests. Three tests are between me and this two year program. Three tests! 2 of them are multiple choice (I think) and the other one is an essay.
Three tests that have nothing to do with dental hygiene, but have more to do with critical thinking and analyzing. They don't want me (or other applicants) to study for it, so there is no study guide.
There is on way to practice. Ugh. But in a way, I guess it IS good...to some extent. I can spend my time doing other things, and I don't feel guilty about not studying, but still. A few practice questions wouldn't hurt. :) Anyways, my first test is on March 15th, and the other two (one being the essay) are on March 24th. I need to dust off my essay writing skills... if I even had any to begin with ;) I haven't had to write papers for school in quite a few months.

*The letter of acceptance is mailed between late April and early May.*
- Lots of waiting to do :) -

As far as my current classes go, I love them very much. My professors are not only geniuses, but they are also excited to teach :) Which makes me excited to learn! Right now I'm taking Anatomy&Physiology part 2, Music Appreciation, Yoga and Choir.
Reading a book in the library before going to the gym.

In my spare time (aka between, after or before classes- it depends on the day), I walk to the campus gym. I run on the treadmill for awhile, then stretch or do something else or both. I'm kinda indecisive, so I just do whatever looks interesting at the time. Lately I've been listening to a podcast from a pastor in San Antonio, Robert Emmitt. We visited his church a few time while living in Texas, but Community Bible Church was too far away to drive to every Sunday morning. Needless the say, he is an incredible preacher/teacher. Click here for the podcasts). I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Maybe I'll do a 20 by 20 update post soon.
Have a good weekend, everyone!
:)

  1. so exciting about the dental hygiene! Congrats! The tests will be nerve racking but I'm sure you'll do fine! My good friend just got done with dental hygiene school and although it was tough, she is so grateful for it now, working a stable job and getting paid the big bucks! It'll all pay off for you!
