weekend instagram pics

thursday night snack.

 online lecture and note taking.

I really like tea.

Nate had his first solo on Saturday! I didn't actually see him fly, but I did enjoy this view and the wifi! ;) (we don't have internet at the apartment so we mooch off of school/the airport/starbucks/the library a lot.)

 Mr. Scofield, our new pet.

a "bonfire" with friends from church.
it was 30 degrees and snowing a little bit, so this fire kept us warm.

cute little kittens wanted to stay warm too!
they were also great hand warmers. ;)

It took forever to find a good time for four friends (with busy schedules & different time zones) to talk together all at the same time. The plan was to skype/oovoo, but the wifi wasn't strong enough. We ended up conference calling instead. Love you guys!

awkward and awesome 10/26/12

Once again, here are the awkward and awesome highlights of my week.
If you haven't read my other a&a posts, you can read them here, here, here and here.

the awkward times...

+ This first one has some background info-- Sharing a car with my brother can get complicated sometimes. At the beginning of the year I rode my bike so I wouldn't have to driving him to work or the airport at 6 or 7am depending in the day. But now that it's cold outside, I'd much rather wake up 2 hours before I need to so that I can have the car. Anyways, I'm usually really tired so I sleep on a couch  in a lounge area at school like a homeless person. Sometimes I here people walking by when I'm half asleep and I'm super confused because I think I'm back at my apartment... "why are people walking past my bed?!" I wonder.

+ flipping through stations on the radio, getting to a song I really like and there's only 10 seconds left of the song... :(

+ walking past a classroom and doing a double take because I see the professor sitting on the chair really strangely. like feet on the cushion, butt on the backrest strange. Have you ever seen a 50ish year old professor do that before? me neither.

+ spending waaaaaaay too much time on a problem that my teacher assigned, and then finding out it was an "ugly" problem, and they just drop it. this happened in math and chemistry...

+ walking on a treadmill, talking to my mom on the phone and watching a show by reading the glitchy subtitles.

the awesome times...

+ getting a 89% on a test I thought I failed.

+ volunteering in the nursery for the first time since leaving Washington. It feels so good to be around kids again. I missed it.

+ wool socks, ear warmers, and gloves.

+ being asked if I play on the UND's women's hockey team.

+ Bible study and fellowship. I feel so encouraged after leaving that place. :)
