see diamond head? it's between the two branches on the right.
the weather was perfect. there was just the right amount of wind, and LOOK at the color of that water! i don't think anyone could get sick of it. my brothers, josiah and kai, have been taking sailing lessons for months, and they are certified on three different sail-boat models. i think it's so crazy; they're 13 and 11 years old. as far as i know, trusting an eleven-year-old with a two-story tall boat isn't what most people do, but, nonetheless, i'm glad these people do! j & k were able to take us out for a couple hours. since they have been taking lesson for so long, they know another language: the sailing language. AND, they expect nate, my mom and i to know it too. "preparing to tack... ok, tacking! come on, rosala! take the jib sheet (rope) out of the cleat, let go and come to the other side (of the boat). now hold this other rope." ahh, talk about stress. i don't know what that is or how to do it! all i know is i don't want to capsize, pretty please. so kai was doing his job while trying to do mine too. sorry, kai. haha, once i got the basic hang of 'my job', i enjoyed the ride; it took awhile though. we sailed around the harbor while josiah and nate were sailing in another boat. then we switched people out so my mom could go out too.
fun day. fun experiences. but don't be fooled.
sailing is not relaxing, it's stressful.
**90% of these pictures were taken by my mom. :) ...just wanted to give her the credit.
That is so neat. Sounds like it was a fun day with your brothers.
