there was a weekend last month that had free admission to the uss missouri for army soldiers and their families. nate and i took josiah and kai, and apparently our id's don't say army anywhere on them *sigh*, but they gave us four (child) tickets anyway. we must have looked cute enough or something. once we got to the entrance, we handed a lady our tickets. she looked at nate and i a little strangely. i mean, he and i aren't exactly kids. we just did what most people would do in a situation like that, smile and wave. (madagascar, anyone?)
ok, moving on.
fun facts about the ship:
+ nickname: mighty mo
+ the captain has a red couch in his quarters
+ the japanese surrendered on this ship, ending wwII
+ there's a machine gun mounted to the ship called r2-d2, and it fires 50 bullets per second.
later that day, my mom and i dropped josiah and kai off at a week long awana camp. i was a little jealous. i remember how fun awana camp was when i did it back in middle school, and now they were going for the first time in hawaii. at first they were a bit anxious, but i told them it would be a blast. when they came home, my beliefs were validated.
they loved it.
i just knew they would. :)
Looks like so much fun! I love the second pic...so cute! And I totally want to go to Awana camp...haha.
